I entered Mansfield State College (MSC) in '77 aspiring to graduate a shortstop. To pass my time before my inevitable drafting by the NY Mets I decided to attend math and computer science classes. Recruited shortstops made my baseball career futile, Mathematics provided me the ability to prove the number one existed while Assembly Language programming proved to me it was best instead if I used ALL the available numbers! But I sure could type (and often re-collate) a beautiful COBOL and Fortran IV deck....
I obtained a B.A. in Mathematics in '81. No experience - no job, no job - no experience... Following one resume rejection after another, I returned to MSC in pursuit of a B.S. in Computer Science. I left MSC in '82, after one sememster, 3 credits shy of a B.S. in Computer Science. needing to get away from all those "too young looking immature kids" and start making a living.
More to come....
