Reviewed existing Configurator/static BOM structures, conducted as-is/to-be interviews, designed/implemented re-structured Configured items eliminating manual pricing, parts list review and ensuring manufacturability for multiple product lines
Designed multi-level Configured item(s), utilizing external program functionality permitting a single Parent Configured item to call and pass previous selections to the correct downstream Child Configurator(s), reducing redundant questions and decreasing total required Configured items
Post implementation - order entry time was reduced, the manual review process for accuracy and ability to manufacture where eliminated

Modularized BOM structure, introduced the use of phantom items and setup to facilitate pay-point backflushing

Work Orders (WO’s) often not printed, manufacturing fell to knowledgeable senior plant personnel who knew the product/Customer – post implementation WO’s were printed hot lists reduced and Customer cheat sheets were eliminated
Established pay-point backflushing process by Work Center location
Post implementation – WO’s were used, component materials relieved as orders were completed, stock outs were reduced, inventory accuracy improved and on-time shipments increased
